Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, disclose and secure personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Last updated 1 July 2026

1. Scope

My Australian Host (ABN 50 805 377 293) of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What we collect

Identity and contact details (name, business name, ABN, email, phone, postal address), billing information, domain registrant details, support correspondence, and technical data such as IP addresses, server logs and usage metrics.

Where you use one of our free tools we collect the contact details you submit and the domain or URL you asked us to analyse so that we can deliver your report.

Payment card data is captured and stored by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways. We never store full card numbers on our systems.

3. Why we collect it

To provide, bill for and support your services; to verify identity and prevent fraud; to meet registry, tax and law-enforcement obligations; to improve our products; and, where you have consented or where permitted, to send product news and offers. You can opt out of marketing at any time using the link in any email.

4. Disclosure

We disclose personal information to domain registries and registrars (including auDA and ICANN accredited parties), certificate authorities, payment processors, and to service providers who help us operate the business under confidentiality obligations.

Some providers (for example certificate authorities and email delivery platforms) may store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Customer websites, databases and mailboxes are hosted in Australian data centres.

5. Security and retention

We use encryption in transit, restricted role-based access, network filtering and continuous monitoring. Personal information is retained for the life of the account and for 7 years afterwards where required by tax and telecommunications record-keeping laws.

6. Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to or correction of your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@myaustralianhost.com.au. We respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have breached the APPs, contact our Privacy Officer at the same address. If you are not satisfied with our response you may refer the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

7. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies for sessions and security, and analytics cookies to understand how pages are used. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of the client area will not function.
