Domain Name Registration Agreement

1. Registry rules

All .au domains are subject to the auDA Licensing Rules, including Australian presence requirements and the close-and-substantial-connection test for .com.au, .net.au and direct .au names. International domains are subject to ICANN policies and the relevant registry rules.

A domain licence is a right to use a name for the licence period, not ownership of the name.

2. Registrant responsibilities

You warrant that the registrant details supplied are true and that you are eligible to hold the name. False or unverifiable details may cause the registry to cancel the licence. You must keep registrant contact details current.

3. Renewals and expiry

We send renewal notices 30, 14 and 3 days before expiry. Unrenewed .au domains enter a 30-day grace period, then a redemption period during which a registry recovery fee applies, and are then released for public registration.

4. Transfers and disputes

Outbound transfers are supported at any time using the transfer authorisation code available in the client area, provided the domain is not within a registry-imposed lock period. Disputes are handled under the auDRP for .au names and the UDRP for gTLDs.
